Hello and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Craig Sterken. I spend a lot of my free time traveling the state of Michigan with my wife. We are both native to Michigan and love the outdoors and everything this great state has to offer. With four seasons and ever changing conditions, Michigan has a lot to offer a photographer.

Although all forms of photography interest me, landscape and nature photography are my real passion. You’ll find lots of landscape photos here featuring waterfalls, lighthouses, beaches, and more. My favorite areas to photograph are anywhere along the shores of Lake Michigan or Lake Superior. Ice covered lighthouses in winter are natures sculptures and ever changing. Autumn strewn leaves on river rocks add vivid colors to waterfalls in the Upper Peninsula. Our iconic Mackinac Bridge changes scenery depending on the season or time of day.

Traveling from places as diverse as the beaches of Ludington to the wilderness of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, the Porcupine Mountains, or to the expanse of Sleeping Bear Dunes, the wonders of nature never fail to amaze. I distinctly remember a 6 am trek across a frozen Lake Superior through darkness to capture the spectacular sunrise lighting up the ice curtains on Grand Island.
